Safety
Last updated October 16, 2026
If you're in immediate danger, call 911. Then tell us at safety@getpairo.com, and we'll act on it.
Pairo does not conduct criminal background checks on its members, and does not verify anyone's identity. Passing our sign-up says nothing about who someone really is. Anyone can lie about their name, their age or their photos. There's no substitute for being careful with a stranger who wants to meet you.
What Pairo checks, and what it doesn't
- Checked automatically before other people see them: photos, names, bios and group-chat messages. Friend lines are checked before they go on anyone's profile.
- Not screened: private one-to-one messages. If someone sends you something threatening or explicit there, report them from the chat.
- Never checked: whether someone is who they say they are. A friend line is a friend's opinion, not a background check.
Before you meet
- Keep the conversation in Pairo until you trust someone. Moving to another app early makes it harder for us to help.
- Don't share your last name, home address, workplace, school or anything else that identifies you until you're sure.
- Never send money, gift cards, crypto or login codes to anyone you met on Pairo, whatever the story. Report anyone who asks.
- Stop talking to anyone who pressures you for personal or financial information, or who pushes to meet somewhere private.
- Trust your gut. If something feels off, you don't owe anyone an explanation. Block them.
When you meet
- Bring your friend. That's what a Pairo is for: four people, nobody alone with a stranger. If you go solo, take extra care with everything below.
- Meet somewhere public and busy. Never agree to be picked up at your home.
- Get there and back on your own: your own car, a ride you booked, or your friend.
- Tell someone who isn't going (family, or a friend) where you'll be, who you're meeting, and when you expect to be home.
- Keep an eye on your drink, and don't let it out of your sight. Know your limits.
- Keep your phone charged. You can leave at any point, for any reason.
If something goes wrong
- Report: from the feed, your saved list, or any chat — anywhere you see someone. Reports about someone who looks under 18 are never dismissed automatically; a person looks at every one.
- Block: it works both ways, the other person isn't told, and it still holds if they delete their account and sign up again with the same phone number or Apple ID.
- Tell us what happened: safety@getpairo.com. Safety reports are looked at the same day. If you've reported to the police, we'll cooperate with them.
